APPOINTMENTS & DEPOSITS

At Benchmark Tattoo, we require a deposit for all appointments. This deposit is applied to the final cost of your tattoo. Your appointment is guaranteed once your deposit has been placed.

Rescheduling & Cancellation

If you need to reschedule, we require an email sent to the artist 24 hours in advance. If you do not notify the artist to reschedule within 24 hours, you will lose your deposit. Please also call the shop to ensure the artist knows you have contacted us within the required 24 hours. The number for the shop is 218-730-7285.

  • We will move your deposit with your appointment up to two times before it is forfeited.

  • Drastic changes to the tattoos design or size after a consult will also forfeit a deposit at the artist's discretion.

  • Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Please be aware that most of our artists are booking 2-4 weeks out. Depending on availability, rescheduling may take up to a few weeks.

Payments

We are a cash preferred shop. When using a credit/debit card in store or online there is a 5% service fee. To avoid this fee please pay for deposits and tattoos in cash.

  • All pricing estimates are simply estimates and not a guaranteed total. Only when a tattoo is complete, can an artist give an exact price for the tattoo.

  • If you are working within a specific budget, please let the artist know before they start drawing your tattoo. This ensures that the design will be within the established budget.

  • Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • All sales of gift cards and retail are final.

Medications

Medications that affect the blood and skin can change the ability of skin to retain ink and inhibit the healing process. If you are on any skin or blood pressure medications, please contact your physician before getting a tattoo.

  • If you are taking Accutane (Isotretinoin), we are not able to tattoo you. This medication can cause your skin to scar and make it harder for ink to saturate your skin.

  • If you are pregnant or breast feeding, we are not able to tattoo you. We are happy to have a consultation to talk about your design and set a date for you post-pregnancy/breast feeding.

  • Do not use over the counter painkillers, prescription painkillers, alcohol, or other drugs before or during your tattoo. They may cause an increase in bleeding. We do not advise using any topical pain relief that is not approved by the FDA or a doctor. Some numbing products can cause temporary changes to the outer layers of skin, which can affect the final outcome of the tattoo.

  • If you are looking for a way to ease the pain during your tattoo, Benchmark recommends Hustle Helper; a pain reducing product. Hustle Helper is only used after your tattoo is started and the skin is broken. You are able to buy Hustle Helper online. You can also contact us about the pre-tattoo topical numbing cream that we recommend, which can be purchased on Amazon.
